An octopus is given eight tasks. In logical fashion, the octopus assigns one arm to each of the eight tasks. Obviously, the octopus cannot give more than one arm to a single task without causing another task to fail. Therefore, the octopus must spread out its arms and maintain its maximum reach of one arm per task regardless of how much it wishes it could use more. So, what would happen if this octopus was given the workload of several other octopuses?
