SECRET GARDEN. 🥀

The heart, a secret garden,
Its walls, so very high,
Admired by wandering travelers,
Curious of what lay inside.

Tales of shine and shimmer,
Of a hidden Shangri-La,
Scaled and sought by many,
Only to fall, a distance far.

Within those folds of folklore,
Lay she, so fair and still,
Asleep, to never wake,
Her fading beauty killed.

With purpose gone, the walls endured,
Though time must take its toll.
Little by little, the barriers crumbled,
Revealing a he-sized hole.

Eons past, the lore grew faint,
A whisper lost in time,
Until one day, in Sherwood deep,
He stumbled on the climb.

The barrier loomed, a beast of stone,
Menacing in its height,
But through the cracks, the passage found—
He ventured toward the light.

Ashen leaves crunch beneath his steps,
Through rubble did he pass,
But stark the truth lay waiting there—
No gold, no verdant grass.

No shimmer, no luxury, no Shangri-La,
Just faded beauty and bones.
For naught, he’d sought this barren land.
And left its myth alone.
